New Orleans Fishing Report June 16:

Today Bayou Country Fishing Charters, fished Jeff and his Daughter Vicky, with Vicky catching most of the fish. The day started out in Lake Brussels which around 15 miles south of Lafitte. We were fishing spoons, then moving out and about the walls around Little Lake, with market bait on the bottom. Get our early when the bite is on its on by 7:00 the bite goes to a crawl, those New Orleans fish don’t like the heat. So get out early get the bite and beat the New Orleans heat. Good Luck on the Water.

New Orleans Fishing for trout June 12, 2016

The Best New Orleans fishing trips

The New Orleans fishing has been great for trout and red fish:

Caught two limits of trout before 8 oclock! The winds were blowing out of the southeast with an incoming tide. We moved around Hackberry Bay, Black Snail Bay, and Red Eye fishing around the islands looking for shrimp jumping. When we got on the trout, it was one after the other sometimes two at a time. Not even taken time to open the ice chest. All the trout were between 17 and 18 inches.

All fish were caught tight lining double rigged H & H swimming  cocohoe minnow in glow with chart tail, 1/4 oz jig heads and fluorocarbon leader. Cast out let the rig go all the way to bottom, reel the rig in just fast enough to keep it off bottom. Call Bayou Country Charters and book your New Orleans fishing trip now.

Mike and His Father Mike a fathers Day Get away

New Orleans Charter Trip with Mike and his father Mike

Mike and his father decided while in New Orleans for business to make a New Orleans Charter Trip to go catch a few Lafitte Red fish. They made the 35 Minute drive from New Orleans to Lafitte. We left the dock heading to a few hot spots, Making stops in Little Lake, Three Bayou Bay and Bay Long. We ended up catching a limit but we were on a catch and release day since they were flying out that afternoon.

The way we fished was hitting the points and bleed offs in Little lake, Three Bayou Bay and Bay Long. We used market bait 14″ under a popping cork, only popping once every 30 or 40 seconds.

Bayou Country Charters would like to thank the two Mike for sharing their Fathers Day trip with us. We look forward to seeing them again.

Happy Fathers Day to all the great dads out there!!!
